“Repeat Sentence” task in PTE Academic exam is more than just a memory test. According to various studies, memory only plays a small role in this task. You can only repeat few words by memorizing the sentence. It can be up to five words in a sequence. This task is to test candidate’s knowledge of the grammatical structure of a sentence and ‘language strings’ that help to repeat the words. So you are required to understand the structure, group words into meaningful phrases, stress right words and produce correct word sequences.

This task is not as straight forward as it appears so many students fail to score high in this section. Follow our method of Listen – Write – Grammar to score high in this section. While listening to the sentence, don’t over think and just listen what is being said. Thinking about the length and vocabulary used in the sentence put unnecessary pressure on the mind. Don’t panic and you will and most likely deliver the right script. Check your grammar. It will be much easier if you have practiced it before.
